Why you should travel while you’re young

I think traveling while you’re young is so important. During our teens and early twenties I think it’s fair to say we are all still finding ourselves, and it can be the hardest thing ever, I’m right there with you.

However, I’ve spent a lot of the past 2-3 years traveling– whether it’s been alone or with people. Every place I’ve gone I feel like I find a part of me, a part of me I never knew before. In the past 2-3 years I’ve been to Texas, Nevada, California, Arizona 3 times, Tennessee, Mississippi, Wisconsin, Iowa, and honestly I’m probably forgetting somewhere. Anyway, each of these places I feel like I leave something behind, but gain something so much more important.

I’ve learned every place is different and every place is so beautiful in their own way, just like each one of us.

Tennessee, i love you for your never ending hills and colorful places.

Arizona, I feel like half of me belongs with you. From your colorful sunsets, to mountains as beautiful as they get.

California, I don’t know what to say but I’m in love with you.

Nevada, you’re the definition of what I want to be — carefree, crazy, and yet peaceful.

Every time, or any place I go… I can’t help but fall in love. This is what I need at this age. I want to be free, fearless and determined to chase my dreams. I’m not scared to do it alone, and if I had been I wouldn’t have been able to see the beauty of half these places.

Every place inspires me to be something, and to reach that much closer to the person I am determined to be. I never want to look back on my life and say, “man I wish I had done that, or I wish I had gone there” I want to be able to say, “yeah I’ve done that or yes I’ve gone there.”

One day, I’ll be so lost in a place I’ll finally feel home.
